Lisa Loud Is Coming To Gozo

Lisa Loud Brings Her Iconic Energy And Experience to Liquid Spirit Gozo 2025

Lisa Loud has graced the decks at every party that matteredm, helped launch the acid house movement and been praised by Pete Tong as “the most famous lady DJ around”. And now, Lisa Loud — one of the true trailblazers of UK dance music — is set to bring her iconic sound to the shores of Gozo for the very first time.

We’re thrilled to announce Lisa’s debut at Liquid Spirit Gozo, not just because of her legendary status, but because this one feels close to home. An old old friend of festival co-founder Andrea, Lisa’s return to the fold is more than a booking — it’s a reunion. A celebration. And a long-overdue moment for our community to connect with one of the most influential women in dance music history.

Born and raised in South East London, Lisa’s musical journey began not in the booths, but on the dancefloor. A soul girl at heart, she cut her teeth at soul weekenders and warehouse nights promoted by none other than Nicky Holloway. But it was a fateful trip to Ibiza, dancing through the nights to the genre-blending alchemy of Alfredo at Amnesia, that changed everything. The hedonism, freedom, sound, it all blew her mind.

What followed reads like the origin story of a cultural movement. After the so-called ‘Summer of Love’, Lisa found herself immersed in the early acid house scene, mentored by a young Paul Oakenfold who gifted her two crates of vinyl at just 17. That moment launched a DJ career that would reshape the UK’s dance landscape.

From the early days of Spectrum, Future, and her pioneering all-female collective Loud Noise with Nancy Noise, Lisa Loud was at the beating heart of London’s adoption of Ibiza’s free-spirited ethos. She brought the balearic energy to the capital — and the capital loved her for it.

When rave culture exploded, Lisa was everywhere. Playing illegal parties like Sunrise, Biology, and Energy before the term “festival” was even part of our vocabulary. She wasn’t just present — she defined the era. Acid House mushroomed across the UK, and Lisa became its leading lady, with sets at Back to Basics, Venus, Miss Moneypenny’s, Cream, Progress, and countless others.

But Lisa Loud wasn’t only turning heads on the decks. In a male-dominated industry, she carved her path as a respected businesswoman, media personality, and promoter YES SHE DID! By 21, she’d launched her own company, Loud and Clear Promotions, working with the most important independent labels of the generation — Guerilla, Junior Boys Own, Sabres of Paradise, Talkin Loud, Hard Hands.

She promoted acts like Massive Attack and Soul II Soul under Virgin’s wing and co-presented on national television with Ian Wright. She brought underground culture into the public eye — stylishly, unapologetically, and with soul.

Fierce.

She headlined the first-ever festival in Russia in 2002, toured the States with Moby, broke new ground across Eastern Europe, Asia and China — and still had time to grace red carpets, front TV documentaries, and nurture the next wave of talent.

Her passion hasn’t waned. Catch her on the airwaves every Thursday on Release Radio and she’s bringing ALL THAT to Gozo.

Lisa Loud is a walking archive of dance music history, and her inclusion in literary projects like Lady of the House and the upcoming Last Night a DJ Saved My Life is no accident. Her story is the story of a scene — vibrant, rebellious, magnetic — and still evolving.

We can’t wait to hear what she brings to Liquid Spirit Gozo. One of the busiest women in the business is taking a moment to reconnect with the roots — and we’re lucky enough to have a front-row seat.

Brace yourselves. The Loud One is coming.

Catch Lisa Loud at Liquid Spirit Gozo this summer. Don’t miss this rare chance to witness a true originator in action.
