Gozo Island boasts hundreds of caves dotted around the coastline and inland. Some are spectacularly laced with crystals and perfect for exploring by sea, some on the other hand are potently sacred with healing energies and frequencies that claim to wash away negative vibes and renew cells at a faster rate than normal. YES NO JOKE! Stand in a cave in the Maltese islands and you can literally HEAL!
Oh - and guess what - We get to party in one of them! More on that in a bit..
One of the most famous is the Xerri's Grotto, located in the village of Xaghra. This underground marvel was discovered by accident in the 1920s, revealing stunning stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over thousands of years. Locals and visitors, both believe that the serene atmosphere and natural formations within the cave offer a unique space for meditation and spiritual rejuvenation.
Another captivating site is Ninu's Cave in Xaghra. Smaller but equally enchanting, this cave is adorned with delicate crystal formations that sparkle under the dim lights. The cave’s tranquil ambience provides a perfect setting for reflection and inner peace, popular for those seeking mental clarity and emotional healing.
There is also Tal-Mixta Cave which has the most stunning view over Ramla Bay.
